Boreal Strap
The strap you bring when failure isn't an option.
We paired two of the most advanced components in the outdoor hardware world: UHMWPE webbing and the a CNC machined billet aluminum cam buckle. The result is a 1" tie-down strap that is lighter than most half-inch nylon straps, stronger than anything you'll ever need to secure, and built to perform in conditions that destroy conventional gear. This isn't a strap you grab from a bin at the hardware store, it's a precision tool built by hand in our Minneapolis shop of 100% USA made components. This is batch 001, a limited run.
Why This Strap Exists
We got tired of the same tradeoff: nylon straps that absorb water and freeze solid in winter, polyester straps that weigh twice what they should, and plastic buckles that shatter when the temperature drops. So we built the overkill Boreal Strap.

Four-Season Advantages
Winter / Extreme Cold: UHMWPE maintains full mechanical properties down to -110°F. Because its hydrophobic (water absorption under 0.02%), it resists the freeze-solid icing that plagues nylon straps on winter expeditions. Even the best plastic buckles (POM/Delrin) degrade invisibly over time from UV exposure and fatigue cycling. When that degradation combines with cold and impact, failure can be sudden and without warning. The Boreal Strap's CNC aluminum buckle doesn't fatigue from UV, it just works, season after season.
Summer / UV Exposure: Nylon webbing can lose 20-30% of its tensile strength after just a few months of direct sun exposure, and it won't look any different. After 3 years of outdoor use, strength loss can exceed 50%. Polyester lasts longer, roughly 50-75% longer than nylon. The solution-dyed UHMWPE webbing in the Boreal Strap is a fundamentally different polymer that resists UV degradation, and because the color is embedded in the fiber itself, visible fading is a reliable wear indicator, not a lagging indicator of strength you've already lost.
Wet Conditions: UHMWPE is lighter than water. It floats, and it doesn't absorb moisture, which means it won't gain weight in the rain or ice up and dries almost instantly.
Every Day: At roughly half the weight of a comparable polyester strap, every gram you save is a gram you can spend on food, water, comfort, or just a lighter pack.

Buckle: CNC machined from billet aluminum by Austere Manufacturing with corrosion-resistant stainless steel spring. 11.25g. Made in the USA.
Assembly: Hand-sewn with premium Sunstop UV-resistant thread and inspected at the Procya shop, Minneapolis, MN.

They offer class-leading dynamic and static load ratings, the highest available in this size of performance blocks. Lightweight and strong toughened glass fibre reinforced nylon cheeks replace stainless steel straps used in traditional utility blocks - the perfect balance of performance and reliability.
As well as traditional single swivel blocks, the range also includes single and double sheave lashing or soft attachment options through to multiple sheave blocks including those with quad and quin sheaves. The range is extremely versatile allowing a multitude of possible systems right up to a 12:1 purchase mainsheet system for off-the-beach performance catamarans.

Saddle eyes and padeyes are a lightweight, reliable solution for guiding lines on deck, secure attachment points, and serve as connecting points for shackles or slings. This 10mm size is great for dinghies, canoes, kayaks and other small boats, and lightweight tasks on larger vessels. The ferrule lowers friction when used as a fairlead, and spreads the load when used as a lashing point.

Most paracord bracelets are designed to look like survival gear. This one is designed to be used.
The story
I've tried unweaving a traditional paracord bracelet in the field. Cold hands, time pressure, unfamiliar knots — the mental barrier is real, and it defeats the whole point. If you won't actually deploy it, it's just jewelry.
The fix is borrowed from sailing rigging: a soft shackle closure. A titanium bead seats into a loop of cord under tension, holds with real strength, and releases with a single push. Practice it once. You'll have it off your wrist in three seconds. It converts just as quickly to a neck lanyard or a wrist carry loop.
Here's what that changes: you can cut a length of cord for the task at hand, retie the knot, and put the bracelet back on. Every other survival bracelet treats deployment as a last resort because it destroys the bracelet aspect. This one doesn't. Use it, shorten it (or not), keep wearing it.
The cord is Atwood Parapocalypse — not paracord in the generic sense, but eleven specific strands in 5 varieties engineered for different field applications, all in one 4mm braid.
